Rave Reviews from BravoBravo! 2009…Another successful year!!

So I heard through the grapevine that the 10th Anniversary of Bravo Bravo 2009, an annual fundraiser for the Michigan Opera House hosted by the young professionals of the Michigan Opera Theatre Volunteer Association, was a huge hit and from the looks of the pictures, they had another successful year.

It was reported that over 2,000 party goers attended this years 1920’s themed events and guests were treated to unlimited food from more than 40 restaurants such as Wolfgang Puck, Hard Rock Cafe, and Mosaic, and a full open bar (which I hear many definitely took advantage of…I won’t mention names!) I also hear this year it was definitely more diverse than past years, and the young movers and shakers of Detroit definitely represented.

Congrats to them for another successful year!!

Detroit Young Professionals Group is a much needed resource for Detroits young professionals

So a little over a year ago I attended a meeting for a then unknown, newly formed group called Detroit Young Professionals. I decided to join the Facebook group in a desperate attempt to find a network of young, educated movers and shakers in the Detroit area that shared common interests as myself. So when I saw a FB group post on their page that said they were having a meeting, I was so intrigued that I felt obliged to attend.
Upon my arrival, I was shocked and amazed to see that I was surrounded by what appeared to be the perfect group of young professionals…young, diverse, progressive, friendly folks that all shared a common interest…networking with other like minded people in the Detroit metro area. The meeting was hosted by Eddie Lee, the organizations founder, and I knew after listening to his presentation and his plan to start a nonprofit organization whose mission would include supporting the community, networking, and of course quality social options..I knew this group was something special and that DYP was filling a major void in “Detroits young professional” scene.
Since that time, I have attended several of their events and I must say I am never disappointed. They have hosted everything from fabulous networking mixers at various locations around town including, Touch the Sky Soiree at the Skyline Club, their Inaugural Leadership Summit at the Renaissance Club, Vanguard Awards at Cliff Bell’s, and just recently they celebrated their One-Year Anniversary at Chen Chow in Birmingham.
Congrats to Eddie Lee and the DYP team for a job well done!!
